Is the Opportunity Class right for your child?
Opportunity Classes are designed for students who demonstrate high academic potential and thrive in a challenging, enriched learning environment. At Casula Public School, our OC provides explicit teaching, extended learning opportunities, and pathways tailored to high potential and gifted learners, ensuring that every student is stretched and supported to achieve their personal best.
Children suited to the program often demonstrate some of the following traits:
- Strong ability for learning, including handling abstract ideas and applying higher-order thinking skills
- Independent learning skills, creativity, and originality
- Strong curiosity, energy, and wide-ranging interests
- Long attention spans and strong focus
- Excellent vocabulary and communication skills
- Advanced reading ability and habits
- Strong memory and capacity to learn foundational skills quickly
- Ability to connect and transfer knowledge across subject areas
- Outstanding athletic or artistic ability
At Casula Public School, our Opportunity Class fosters and extends these traits through explicit instruction, deep learning experiences, and enrichment programs designed for high potential and gifted students.
