Student opportunities and activities

At Casula Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

School Parliament

Each year Casula Public School students elect School Parliament. Year 6 students are elected into the positions of Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Ministers.

Each year Prime Ministers sign a leadership pledge as ministers and student leaders of our school.

Our 2026 Parliament in Action

The 2026 Parliament has been actively engaged in shaping our school community by writing proposals, debating policies, and leading assemblies with enthusiasm and purpose.

Among the initiatives introduced by Parliament members are the regular Parliament Member Announcements, which keep the student body informed about important news and upcoming events around the school. Additionally, the Secret Parliament Member initiative has been launched during our PBL Super Star Assemblies. This program recognises classes demonstrating the highest standards of safety and respect, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere throughout the school.

We look forward to seeing these initiatives continue to grow and make a meaningful impact on our school community.

Musical Performance

Weird is Wonderful! An original musical written and composed by our very own Mr. Ryan Gannon. A shining example of creativity, collaboration and sheer dedication from Casula Public School students and staff.

Students had the opportunity to bring this incredible story to life and perform for their families, peers and our commmunity.

Nura Groups

Nura Groups provide students with a meaningful opportunity to explore and engage with Aboriginal culture in a respectful and enriching way. Through a blend of history, music, art, and the study of cultural artifacts, students develop a deeper understanding of Australia’s First Nations peoples and their enduring connection to land, community, and tradition.

In these sessions, students learn about significant historical events and perspectives, while also experiencing the richness of Aboriginal culture through creative expression. They explore traditional and contemporary music, create artworks inspired by Aboriginal styles and storytelling, and examine artifacts that reflect daily life, spirituality, and cultural practices.

Nura Groups foster curiosity, respect, and cultural awareness, helping students build a stronger sense of identity and appreciation for the diversity of Australia’s heritage.
