Swimming and Water Safety Program
Date: Monday 23 March - Thursday 2 April 2026
We are very pleased to announce that all Year 3 and 4 students have the opportunity to take part in a government-funded Learn to Swim program this year. Thanks to additional funding secured by the NSW Dept. of Education, this program is completely free for families and aims to give more students access to vital swimming and water-safety skills.
Casula Public School has been identified as a priority school for this initiative, and the program organisers have generously covered all costs, including bus transport and pool entry, so that no student misses out.
Swimming is an essential life skill, and this program provides a valuable opportunity for students to build confidence and safety in the water. We strongly encourage all students to attend and take full advantage of this wonderful, cost-free opportunity.
As part of the school’s curriculum, Stage 2 students (Years 3 and 4) will participate in free swimming and water safety lessons at Whitlam Leisure Centre, Liverpool.
The program caters for students of all swimming abilities, from beginners to confident swimmers, with instruction tailored to individual skill levels.
Places are available for the first 120 students registered across Years 3 and 4.
Each lesson runs for 45 minutes, with students returning to school to continue normal classes following their session.
