Science and technology is mandatory for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
In science and technology, students explore the natural and made worlds. They learn how to apply scientific and technological skills, knowledge and understanding across a broad range of contexts.
Science provides a way of inquiring about the world around us. It explores evidence and investigates ways to discover, develop and produce solutions to real world problems. The inquiry and skill-based nature of science opens doors to ideas and discoveries.
Technology at Casula
The authentic use of technology to enhance Future Focused learning is a major aspect of classrooms at Casula Public School. To ensure our students are informed and active participants in our changing society, we regularly use technology in all Key Learning Areas to help develop their skills with critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and communication. This allows students to develop their ability to:
use ICT to locate, access, evaluate, manipulate, create, store and retrieve information
express ideas and communicate with others, using ICT
develop an awareness of the range of applications of ICT in society
discriminate in the choice and use of ICT for a given purpose
develop the confidence to explore, adapt and shape technological understandings now and in the future.
